Appledore Arts change of legal status

At a meeting on 21 January 2013 the trustees of Appledore Arts voted unanimously in favour of incorporating the existing charity as a limited company.

 

  
The original charity, Appledore Arts, was registered with the Charity Commission number 1117202. On 1 March 2013 a transfer of assets took place from this charity to the new charity, which is registered on the Companies House register, number 07139649 and on the Charity Commission Register of Charities number 1150761 and is also called Appledore Arts.   Appledore Arts encouraging participation in the arts

The reason for the change of legal status was to:
• Limit the liability of the trustees
• Enable the organisation to attract the right calibre of trustees
• Enable the trustee board to be more sustainable
• Explore new income generation models

 

The objects of the existing charity have been replicated in the new charity and no changes to the delivery of our services are expected, for our staff and employees or for our service users, suppliers, partners or funders.

This change was effective from 1 March 2013.
